Former UH and UHS Administrator Roger Singleton Dies

Former University of Houston and UH Sysem administrator Roger Lee Singleton died, Tuesday, June 22 at the age of 71. A native of St. Joseph, Mo., Singleton received a bachelor of science and a master degree from the University of Kansas (KU) and his doctorate from the University of Missouri (MU). He was a professor at KU and MU before joining UH in 1972.
 
Singleton held a number of leadership positions for UH and the UH System during his 10 years here, serving as UH vice president/dean of faculties and later executive vice president for administration and finance at the UH System.
 
Most recently Singleton had dedicated his time to his passion for music and the arts. He was employed by the Allied Arts Council in St. Joseph and was the organist at First Baptist Church, where he was a member.
